Wisconsin Adventure Travel
As a small boy, being raised in Vilas County of the north woods of central Wisconsin, in the small town of
"Land O' Lakes", setting right on the Wisconsin / Michigan(UP) border. I did not understand how very beautiful this land of the northern lights ready was.
The landscape is rolling hills with a lot of lakes, and streams (I mean a lot of them), with forests that go for miles, and miles with trees of every kind. The lake waters are so clear that you can see the bottom of the lake 20 feet down, and watch the fish swimming in and out of the rocks, and weeds. There are lakes that are connected together by streams that make up what is called "The chain of lakes" . You can travel by boat from one lake to the other for 5 to 20 lakes in a row. The streams are so clear and cold that you could drink from them.
Fishing on these creeks, streams, and lakes is so good that you have to throw back many of them just to keep within your limits.
In this part of Wisconsin all you can do is fish, hunt, hike, ski(water or snow), boating, camping, be a lumber jack, or a fishing guide. It is a small resort town of about 500 real resident's who live there all year round, and in the summer time the residents grow to over 3000 due to vacationers, and summer cabin owners on the lakes, and streams.
There are many resorts from modern to rustic on most of the lakes, and streams that are available for summer time vacationing, and some even for winter uses like hunting, skiing(down hill and cross country), ice fishing, snow mobiling. . . . ........................
